Closing date fast approaching for applications for Economic and Social Intervention Fund for 2023

Groups and organisations working in the four Limerick Regeneration communities are being advised that the closing date for application for the Economic and Social Intervention Fund (ESIF) for next year is this Friday 04 November 2022.

All applications must be made via MyPoint and the deadline for the submission of completed applications is this Friday at 4pm. [04 November 2022].

Each organisation may apply for no more than 12 separate projects.

In 2022, 78 organisations working on 135 projects received €3.7 million of financial support through this fund, which is a central tenet of the Limerick Regeneration Framework Implementation Plan.

The overarching aim of ESIF is to close the gaps with the average population by improving access to opportunities for residents of the regeneration areas, as well as improving service provision across the statutory and voluntary/ community sector.

As such, ESIF invests in projects that share these aims, whether the projects are run by voluntary and community organisations or other public agencies.

Projects supported by the Economic and Social Intervention Fund fall under one of six themes:

  • Education and Learning
  • Health and Wellbeing
  • Ageing Well
  • Employability and Work
  • Families and Youth at Risk
  • Community

Funding from ESIF is additional to mainstream funding for such projects under existing statutory programmes.

All organisations receiving grants will be required to maintain detailed financial and statistical records on the operation of the project and provide evidence of delivery of all proposed project outputs and outcomes to Limerick City and County Council.

The application form and outcome reports will be set-out to allow ease of reporting on planned objectives and actual outcomes.

Organisations are required to give full effect to the project as agreed with Limerick City and County Council in a Service Level Agreement where all conditions listed must be complied with.

All projects will be subject to a post payments evaluation procedure.

Please note that the Economic and Social Intervention Fund grant process is specifically linked to Limerick Regeneration Programme and is scheduled to conclude in 2023.

Closing date for the submission of completed applications is Friday 04 November 2022 at 4pm.
