Calling all teachers to get involved in Green Flag School programme

Limerick City and County Council is inviting teachers involved or those that wish to become involved in the Green Schools Initiative to participate in the 2022 Annual Green Schools Teachers Seminars.

This is a free online event on Thursday 6th October 2022, which is run in collaboration with An Taisce and can be booked online here.

Teachers will be updated on the latest green schools news and supported with their schools work on their current Green Schools theme.

The times are as follows for the Limerick and Tipperary Green Schools Seminars:

  • Litter and Waste, 5pm - 6pm
  • Water, 5pm - 6pm
  • Biodiversity, 5pm - 6pm
  • Global Citizenship Litter & Waste, 6pm - 7pm
  • Global Citizenship Energy, 6pm - 7pm
  • Global Citizenship Marine, 6pm - 7pm
  • Global Citizenship Food & Bio, 6pm - 7pm

Sinead Mc Donnell, Environment Awareness Officer with Limerick City and County Council said: “Green-Schools is the leading environmental education programme for primary and secondary schools. There are so many resources freely available to schools from this worthwhile programme. It is student led and promotes long-term, whole-school action for the environment and the environment has never needed support more. I would encourage every school to participate in these free online Teacher Training workshops.”

The Green Schools project is an international project coordinated nationally by the Environmental Education Unit of An Taisce (FEE member for Ireland) and supported locally by Limerick City and County Council.
