Programme Unveiled for Three Weeks of Tricks and Treats this October
Limerick City and County Council has unveiled a spellbinding programme of events for Halloween in Limerick 2026, supported by Ireland, Home of Halloween, the all-island initiative led by Fáilte Ireland, Tourism Ireland and Tourism Northern Ireland, celebrating Ireland as the birthplace of Halloween.
Halloween in Limerick 2026 brings together folklore, food, family fun and community events that reflect the unique culture and character of Limerick.

Halloween Treats
Highlights include the immersive Mystery Samhain Banquet, where guests step into a world of mystery and otherworldly flavours, while food, culture and community take centre stage as the Limerick Harvest Festival serves up a feast of family friendly experiences.
Trick or Treat in the City is a family adventure through the city centre, featuring interactive characters, spooky tales, challenges and a few tricks and treats along the way. The city's streets will also be alive and kicking during the Halloween City Centre Fancy Dress 5K, inviting participants to dust off their capes, cloaks and costumes and join a colourful celebration through the heart of Limerick.
Halloween Scarefest provides more spooky fun, frights, delights and surprises at The Factory, Southside Youth Space and Oktoberfeis brings a uniquely Irish twist to the traditional Oktoberfest experience.
The Rathkeale Halloween Festival: Dullahan to Darkness will summon one of Ireland's most haunting folklore legends in a unique celebration of myth, community and Halloween spirit, while Samhain at the Crossroads in Kilfinane illuminates local heritage through workshops, storytelling and a lantern walk in the heart of the Ballyhoura landscape.
Experience the magic of Samhain at Lough Gur: Where Myth meets Mystery with a weekend of storytelling, heritage walks and more.
Morbid & Sons – Pop-up Funeral Shop is a family-friendly street theatre experience packed with dark humour, live music, quirky characters and interactive fun. Uncover Limerick’s darker side with a series of haunted tours and immersive experiences with the Limerick Civic Trust Halloween Experiences.

“Following the success of the first year of Limerick’s participation in Fáilte Ireland’s three-year Home of Halloween initiative, a huge amount of work has been taking place behind the scenes to build on that momentum and create an even more exciting Halloween experience for 2026.
“The Economic and Tourism Development team at Limerick City and County Council has been working with event organisers, community groups, cultural organisations, tourism partners and venues across Limerick to create a programme that offers something for everyone – whether you’re looking for family fun during the midterm break, a cultural and heritage experience, or something a little darker and more thrilling, you will find it this Halloween in Limerick!”
