All you need to know about composting… but were afraid to ask!

  • Composting City Centre Tidy Towns

Did you know that the compost you can make at home is rich in nutrients and full of life? And when used in your garden and on your plants it feeds the ecosystem of the soil and slowly releases nutrients that plants can absorb? If no, then this event is for you.

Limerick City Centre TidyTowns in conjunction with Limerick City and County Council are delighted to welcome you to All you need to know about composting in the new Community Garden at the Hunt Museum on Friday 13 August 2021 at 11.30am.

Admission is free and all are welcome.

Master Composter Mike Holden will be on hand to introduce you to all the basics of composting along with troubleshooting any questions you may have about composting.

Using compost is the foundation of maintaining healthy soil for stimulating all plant growth and creating a beautiful garden. Home composting helps to reduce the amount of waste that goes to the landfill or incineration and re-uses valuable nutrients that would have otherwise gone to waste.

The All you need to know about composting talk is an action for the TidyTowns National Competition 2022 under the Sustainability Doing More with Less Category.

It also links with a number of the UN Sustainability Goals.
