The Wall Family Archive Project
This project is a part of Limerick City and County Council’s Decade of Centenaries Programme. Limerick Archives acquired the papers of the Wall family in 2020. Sean Wall was the chairman of Limerick City and County Council, and was also the Commanding Officer of the East Limerick Brigade. He was shot dead by the Royal Irish Constabulary in May 1921. Limerick Archives sought to mark the centenary of his death by putting together a project which would be a respectful tribute to Sean Wall, but also to his family. This page makes up the main aspects of the project.

To mark the centenary, Limerick Archives will be holding two events on Zoom. The first is an official launch and walkthrough of the collection which takes place on the 4th of May 2021, at 7pm. You can register for the event via Eventbrite here
The second event will be a roundtable discussion with Tom Toomey and other historians, as well as members of the Wall family. This event will take place on the 6th of May 2021, at 7pm, and you can register for the event via Eventbrite here
