Limerick St. Patrick’s Festival kicked into high gear today as the annual St. Patrick’s Day parade entertained a crowd of more than 50 thousand people that lined the parade route in Limerick City Centre.
There were chants of “Go Cougars” as a band from Minnesota took the top prize following their energetic performance at the 52nd International Band Championship Parade in Limerick.
Limerick St. Patrick’s Festival 2024 was enjoyed by tens of thousands of people in the city over the Bank Holiday weekend. With two major parades, exciting street shows, the panoramic wheel and lots of lively live music and dance, there truly was a different kind of energy in the air.
Show-stopping performances at the 52nd International Band Championship will cap off an exciting weekend of entertainment and family fun at the Limerick St. Patrick’s Festival 2024.
Limerick native and award winning actor Jon Kenny will lead the 2023 Limerick St. Patrick’s Day Parade as Grand Marshal. The Angela's Ashes, D'Unbelievables and The Banshees of Inisherin star is looking forward to his “starring role” in this year’s parade as he invites people to attend Limerick’s parade and “Discover” all that Limerick has to offer.

Limerick’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade and the International Band Championship parade will once again march down Henry Street this year.
Limerick St. Patrick’s Festival celebrations will burst into life with a weekend of family fun activities, two parades and a feast of action at the heart of the Bank Holiday weekend.
