Shaping Time 3: An Exhibition by Limerick Ceramic Artists Curated by Maurice Quillinan

Thursday 8th - Saturday 31st October
  • Ceramics

Limerick Ceramic Artists were founded in 2011, mainly by graduates of Limerick School of Art and Design.

They are a network of ceramic practitioners living and working in the Mid-West region with members from Limerick City and County, Tipperary and Clare. The group supports local ceramic artists in producing high-quality work and raises the profile of ceramics in the region by exhibiting members’ recent work.

These exhibitions broaden the area’s visual and creative arts offering while promoting high standards of creativity. Members use a wide range of techniques and styles, demonstrating the diverse possibilities of ceramics. The group fosters artists’ creative development through exhibitions, engages the public with interactive clay workshops, and maintains strong ties with LSAD to nurture emerging talent.

Limerick Ceramic Artists have exhibited in The Hunt Museum, The Belltable Arts Centre, King John’s Castle, Fab Lab, The Milk Market, Raggle Taggle and the Craft Hub. They have also participated in Culture Night offering very popular clay events.

In 2026 Limerick Ceramic Artists are celebrating fifteen years since their first exhibition, starting with a major exhibition in the Limerick School of Art and Design in March, a second in the Draoicht Art Gallery in Adare and concluding with this Exhibition in Limerick Museum in October. The title “Shaping Time” links these exhibitions together and is appropriate to, how in their time as makers using ceramics, they shape things to express their thoughts and ideas.
