Limerick City and County Council hereby advises motorists and road users that a temporary road closure and traffic management arrangements will be in place on Convent Street and Nicholas Street, Limerick City on Saturday, 12th September 2026 from 7.00 a.m. to 11.59 p.m. The temporary road closure is required to facilitate the Linger: Limerick Festival of Food, Heritage and Place and associated traffic management arrangements.
Diversions
Immediate diversions via Francis Place and Newgate Lane
Wider diversions via Island Road, Athlunkard Street, Bridge Street.
Local Access:
Pedestrian access will be maintained throughout the duration of the event.
Emergency access will be available via Convent Street, Bishop Street and Saint Francis Street.
Limerick City and County Council regrets any inconvenience caused.
