Explore the castle’s ancient walls, courtyards and towers as your guide brings medieval Limerick to life. With the castle taking on a completely different atmosphere at twilight, this special evening tour offers a unique opportunity to discover some of the secrets of King John’s Castle after the doors have closed for the day.

What to Expect

Your evening begins at the entrance to the glass building, where you will meet your tour guide. From here, you’ll be brought into the castle courtyard before setting off on a guided tour of King John’s Castle.

The tour will take you through the castle’s historic spaces, uncovering the people, events and stories that have shaped its history over more than 800 years.

The tour concludes in the castle courtyard, where guests will then be escorted back outside through the main door of the glass building.

Whether you’re a history enthusiast, a local looking to see the castle from a different perspective, or simply looking for something memorable to do in Limerick, this after-hours experience is a chance to see King John’s Castle at its most atmospheric.
