Temporary Closure of Roads: Barrington Street, Limerick City

Notice is hereby given, in accordance with the provisions of the Roads Act 1993 of the intention of Limerick City and County Council to close the road as detailed hereunder at the specified locations and times to facilitate a crane lift.

Diversions via

For Local traffic Cars & Vans only via Harstonge Street (L-10376-2)

For All Buses and HGV’S via Mallow Street (L-10367-5) & Lowe Mallow Street (R-527)

On 27th June 2026 from 07:00 to 21:00

 

  • Diversions will be clearly signposted
  • Only Local access given to Little Barrington Street & Pery Square.
  • No Through road on Barrington Street while Crane erection in progress
  • Local Access only to Schoolhouse Lane from St Josephs Street. Road to be Closed at rear entrance of site
  • Road closed except to locals on Barrington Street from Quinlan Street (R526) both North and Southbound direction. Banksman & signage in place to ensure safety.

Any person may lodge an objection to the proposal to close these roads by email to roads@limerick.ie or in writing to the Administration Team, Central Services, Roads, Limerick City and County Council, Dooradoyle, Limerick not later than 4:00pm, Tuesday 02nd  June 2026.
