Play & Discover: Behind The Scenes of a Handmade Video Game

Saturday 6th June @ 10.30am
  • Play Discover

Beyond the Bark, and Limerick Libraries, invites young people to come and try Éalú: a video game with literally hand made visuals; and then learn how it was animated.

Whereas most video games use computer graphics, the world of Éalú is made entirely from photos of real sets and characters constructed with wood, stone, metal and felt.

On the day, Beyond the Bark animator Ivan Fisher-Owen will give a quick behind the scenes presentation of the game's development process. Afterwards, multiple computers will be available with the game installed for participants to try playing. Between playing the game, participants can take turns in small groups to visit a stop motion animation station where Ivan will show them how to create their own short, animated sequence using props from Éalú.
