Temporary Closure of Roads: Wolfe Tone Street, Limerick

Notice is hereby given, in accordance with the provisions of the Roads Act 1993 of the intention of Limerick City and County Council to close the road as detailed hereunder at the specified locations and times to facilitate waste and drinking water connection.

From R526 junction to R858 junction.

The works are 20m in length.

Diversions via Diversion Route 1 (R526 → R858):
Traffic travelling from R526 O’Connell Avenue will be diverted onto R526 Rosbrien Road, before continuing along R858 Lord Edward Street.

Diversion Route 2 (R858 → R526):
Motorists leaving R858 Lord Edward Street will be redirected through Byrne Avenue, Lenihan Avenue, and Hyde Avenue, before joining Childers Road and returning to the R526 via Rosbrien Road and back to R526 O’Connell Avenue.

From 08:00hrs 

to 18:00 hrs on 5th May to 6th May 2026 (24 hour closure)

  • Diversions will be clearly signposted
  • Local Traffic will be accommodated 

Any person may lodge an objection to the proposal to close these roads by email to roads@limerick.ie or in writing to the Administration Team, Central Services, Roads, Limerick City and County Council, Dooradoyle, Limerick not later than 4:00pm, Tuesday 31th March 2026.
