Further to Notice of Significant Further Information published on the 13th November 2025 relating to rehabilitation works on Galbally Bridge at Mooreabbey in Co. Limerick, for clarification, said notice contained a number of errors that require the publication of the below updated notice of Significant Further Information.
Pursuant to the requirements of Section 177AE of the Planning & Development Act 2000 (as amended) and the requirements of the Planning & Development Regulations 2001 (as amended), notice is hereby given that Limerick City and County Council has furnished to An Coimisiún Pleanála with significant further information with respect to the rehabilitation works on Galbally Bridge at Mooreabbey in Co. Limerick.
The significant further information consists of:
- Built Heritage Protected Structure
- Architectural Heritage Impact Assessment Report & JCA Architects Report
- Punch Consulting Engineers Report
- Punch Consulting Engineers – Drawings of Existing and Proposed Bridge Details
- Daubenton’s Bats Roosts, Disturbance of Otters and Issues related to Water Quality are addressed in the following reports;
- Appropriate Assessment Report – Prepared by Ecology Research and Solutions
- Ecology RFI Response – Prepared by Ecology Research and Solutions
- Construction & Environment Management Plan – Prepared by Punch Consulting Engineers
A copy of the plans and particulars will be available for inspection and/or purchase at a fee not exceeding the reasonable cost of making a copy, from 29th January 2026 up to and including 20th February 2026 during public opening hours (excluding bank holidays) at the following locations;
- By Appointment at Limerick City & County Council Offices, Dooradoyle Road, Limerick, V94WV78. Appointments must be arranged in advance by emailing Matthew Clark matthew.clark@limerick.ie or by contacting 061-556000
- Plans and particulars of the proposed development will also be available for inspection online during the above timeframes at https://mypoint.limerick.ie.
- The offices of An Coimisiún Pleanála, 64 Marlborough Street, Dublin 1, DO1 V902
Submissions or observations may be made to Coimisiún Pleanála on the proposed development in relation to:
- The implications of the proposed development for proper planning and sustainable development in the area concerned.
- The likely effects on the environment of the proposed development, and
- The likely significant effects of the proposed development on a European Site if carried out.
Submissions or observations may only be made in writing to An Coimisiún Pleanála, 64 Marlborough Street, Dublin 1, DO1 V902 or may be submitted by email to laps@pleanala.ie not later than 5.30pm on 20th February 2026.
A person may question the validity of a decision by An Coimisiún Pleanála by way of an application for judicial review, under Order 84 of the rules of the Superior Courts (S.I. No.15 of 1986) in accordance with Section 50 of the Planning and Development Act 2000 (as amended).
