St. Michael's Rowing Club Riverfest Estuary Row

This 60km invitational row sees crews travel from Limerick City to Askeaton and back, working with the tides for an unforgettable day on the water. Open to coxed quads and coastal/touring boats and welcoming rowing clubs from across the region, the event celebrates endurance, cooperation and shared participation on Ireland’s great river during Riverfest Limerick 2026.

Wave I: Limerick to Askeaton - 30km 

  • 08:00* Depart: SMRC, O’Callaghan Strand, Limerick City 
  • 11:45* Arrive: The Deel, Askeaton, Co. Limerick
  • 12:15*: Complimentary Refreshments at Askeaton

Wave II: Askeaton to Limerick - 30km

  • 16:00* Depart: The Deel, Askeaton, Co. Limerick 
  • 19:45* Arrive: SMRC, O’Callaghan Strand, Limerick City
  • 20:15*: Complimentary Refreshments at SMRC, O’Callaghan Strand

*precise times TBC, weather & tide dependent, generally intended to benefit from maximal tidal flow after local high tide. Waves I & II may be ‘weighted’ with participants for consistent boat speeds.
