Family Friendly Abbeyfeale

Enjoy the surroundings of the award-winning family-oriented Town Park or go for a walk, run or cycle on the nearby 40km long Limerick Greenway. Abbeyfeale has a lot on offer for families visiting the town and surrounding area.

Family Friendly

The Town Park is Abbeyfeale's jewel in it's crown. An award winning 29 acre community developed recreational space on the banks of the River Feale. The Town Park has meandering walkways adjacent to the river which takes in idyllic views of the surrounding countryside. Also included in the park is a woodland area, a pond area, a children’s playground, a very popular all-weather mini-pitch, a picnic area and public facilities.

Glórach Theatre is a community theatre with an open door policy to benefit the local community and continues a long established tradition of drama and music in the town. It was launched by Abbeyfeale Folk in 2006 and facilitates and promotes various performance shows, plays, cinema nights, children’s workshops and youth theatre.

The Butterfly Club, operating in Abbeyfeale since 2009, is a voluntary organisation that provides leisure activities in a safe, fun filled environment for children and young adults with special needs, while providing respite for parents/guardians.

Hidden away behind the Memorial Hall and the Giants Garden in the nearby village of Athea is a unique trail which is home to ten fairies who each have their own fairy door and a purpose. The Fairy Mountain is open to the public all year round and admission is free-of-charge.

If it's a break from the great outdoors you are looking for, Abbeyfeale Library extends the joy of reading, lifelong learning and discovery to all, young and not so young.
