  • Limerick City Kayaking

Perhaps you’re feeling competitive…or in the mood for an exciting open-country challenge? Maybe you want to get the adrenalin pumping, craving the rush of the great outdoors - or simply looking for some good old-fashioned family fun. Whatever gets you up and moving, however you choose to celebrate that just being alive feeling, you’ll find it here in Limerick - combining the very best of Irish backdrops with first rate facilities, activities and supervision.

City Escapades

If you fancy some action but don’t want to leave the city, Nevsail Watersports offer every solution you could want - conveniently located right in the city centre and catering for all ages and levels of skills.

Limerick City Kayaking Tours offer fun, safe kayaking trips on the River Shannon and are suitable for anyone over 6 years of age. Best of all, no previous kayaking experience is needed. You’ll be introduced to all the necessary kayak strokes and safety protocol – then head off to see Limerick’s amazing sites from the water. It really is a fun way to see over 800 years of fascinating local history – and you’ll learn lots of fascinating facts as you go.

Then there’s Nevsail’s Boat and Sail Taster Sessions – a great introduction to ‘learning the ropes’ of sailing. The company uses safe, stable and easy-to-handle Lelievlet sailing boats – and you’ll be introduced to hoisting sails and driving the boat as you view the city.

Just out the road, in Castleconnell, you can try your hand at Tubing on the River Shannon. Lie back and chill out in a giant inflatable ring as you float down the river without a care in the world. Then let the water do all the hard work as you descend the Falls of Doonass amongst the many whitewater features on the Shannon. You will flow through the beautiful countryside, passing ancient ruins and wading herons on your easy but adrenaline inducing journey. This is the perfect activity for groups and families to be introduced to the joys of whitewater sports on the river Shannon!

If you prefer your action on land, then why not put your best foot forward at Nevsail’s Indoor Rock-Climbing Wall – a great way to challenge yourself and get a good, all-round work-out while having some fun. First-timers may need to complete a training lesson first – then you’re good to go, with supervision by our expert instructors throughout your climb.
