Castleconnell Boat Club is situated on the Shannon River and takes advantage of a beautiful stretch of water between World’s End and O’Briensbridge.
Castleconnell Boat Club, founded in 1983, is run by a small, dedicated team of volunteers, parents and coaches with the aim of helping people of all ages and abilities to enjoy the sport of rowing. It is situated in a unique and picturesque location on the banks of the River Shannon in the village of Castleconnell, Co. Limerick, only 10km from Limerick City and 5km from the University of Limerick.
We are the envy of many as we can row on nearly 4km of uninterrupted waters of the river Shannon between the villages of Castleconnell and O’Briensbridge. This section of the river is non-tidal and can be accessed all year round.
Castleconnell Boat Club is a relatively young club but we are growing rapidly. We are open to all members both young and old. Our junior rowing program has doubled in size over the last two years and caters for children from 11 to 18 years. We also have a masters crew who will never say no to new participants.
Over the years CCBC has become deeply immersed and has become a central part of the local community. We have also built up a close working relationship with the University of Limerick and share our valuable facilities and resources as the need arises.
