Lough Gur Folklore Walk & Ancient Pottery Demonstration

Saturday 10th October @ 12pm
  • Lough Gur

Discover the history, folklore and ancient crafts of Lough Gur in this special heritage experience.

Join Brian Collopy for a guided walk to the viewing point, hearing some of the stories and folklore associated with Lough Gur and its remarkable landscape along the way. Following the walk, Clair Jones of Lough Gur Pottery will give a demonstration of the techniques used to construct the ancient pottery discovered around the park, as well as sharing an insight into her own contemporary pottery practice.

Clair's work will also be on display, with a selection of pieces available to purchase. Combining a guided walk, local folklore, archaeology and traditional craft, this is a lovely opportunity to experience Lough Gur from a different perspective.
