An art workshop which focuses on natural materials and explores how our ancestors might have made art in prehistory.
Our biggest super power is creativity Our ancient ancestors solved all their problems without the use of metal,plastic,paper,glass or electricity. They relied on the natural world to provide for literally everything they needed. Mother Nature is by far the most wonderful artist. Immerse yourself in a unique art experience in nature. developing new skills and engaging your senses. Develop your own creativity immersed in the beauty of Lough Gur. Take away something made with your own hands as a keepsake of your experience. This workshop will teach children how to forage for raw materials, alongside making art and art tools from nature.
Activities include:
- Making natural paintbrushes and using natural materials for print making and watercolor paintings and drawings.
- Making pigments,drawing with charcoal sticks all goes back over 3,000 years.
- Making sun prints with herbs and natural powders.
- Using berry inks ,charcoal ink and pigments we will be making our very own paper to make a card or a little journal.
This workshop is for children between the ages of 7 to 12.
