Joyce Brothers Music Festival 2026

Thursday 8th October

• Opening Night | The Old Chapel Rooms, Kilfinane | 7.30pm | Celebrate the opening of the Joyce Brothers Music Festival with an evening of traditional music, song and dance, headlined by acclaimed Irish harpist Laoise Kelly. 

Friday 9th October

• Traditional Concert | Old Chapel Rooms, Kilfinane | 7.30pm | Enjoy an unforgettable evening with The Clancy Boys, whose energetic performances of traditional Irish ballads have earned them a reputation for capturing the spirit, humour and storytelling of Ireland's rich musical tradition. 
• Traditional Music Session | Healy's Bar | 9pm | Continue the evening with an informal traditional music session at O' Seachnasaigh Bar, Kilfinane.

Saturday 10th October

• Traditional Music & Dance Workshops | 11.30am | Learn from experienced musicians and dancers in a series of engaging workshops suitable for all levels.
• Intermediate Music Workshop | Teach na Cille, V35 KW01 | 2.30pm - 4pm | Join musician Jacqui Martin to learn tunes from the Joyce collection. This workshop is aimed at intermediate level musicians. All instruments welcome.
• Advanced Music Workshop | Ó Céileachair's V35 Y9K0 | 2.30pm - 4.30pm | Join John Derek Hickey to learn more advanced tunes from the Joyce Collection. All instruments welcome .
• Galtee Mountain Screening & Photography Exhibition | 4pm | Celebrate the beauty of the Galtee Mountains through film and photography.
• Photography Walk | Mitchelstown | 5.30pm | Join fellow photographers to explore Mitchelstown through the lens while learning tips and techniques along the way.
• Meet the Maker & Taste the Place | 6pm | Meet local food producers and discover the flavours that make Ballyhoura Country unique.
• From A House in Glenosheen - Concert at The Old Chapel Rooms | 7.30pm | Experience the premiere of From A House in Glenosheen, a captivating new traditional arts production inspired by the Joyce Collection. Created by Des Dillon, the performance weaves together puppetry, music, song and dance, bringing the cultural legacy of P.W. Joyce and Robert Dwyer Joyce to life. 
• Jack O'Rourke Concert | 8pm |  Enjoy an intimate evening performance by acclaimed Irish singer-songwriter Jack O'Rourke at Saint George's in Mitchelstown.
• Traditional Music Sessions | 9pm | Finish the evening with traditional music sessions in McGrath's Bar and Ó Céilleachair's Bar, Kilfinane.

Sunday 11th October

• Traditional Mass | 11am | Celebrate the musical heritage of the Joyce Brothers with a traditional Mass featuring live music.
• Walk to the Joyce Homestead | 1pm | Follow in the footsteps of the Joyce Brothers on a guided walk accompanied by traditional tunes.
• Traditional Session in Nuala M’s Pub Ballyorgan, V35 R796 | 2pm - 4pm | Enjoy another lively traditional music session at Nuala's Bar, Ballyorgan.
•  Final Traditional Music Performance | 5pm | Round off the weekend with a final celebration of traditional music at Healy's Bar.

The festival will run alongside the Ballyhoura Walking Festival, which will feature a variety of walks to suit all ages and abilities – from sunrise hikes to family-friendly strolls!
