Hiking in County Limerick

Limerick is rich in adventure trails, with gently undulating countryside that varies from the mountains of Ballyhoura in the Golden Vale, the forest paths of Curraghchase and the Clare Glens, and the varying terrain and landscape of the many walking routes throughout the county.

Ballyhoura Way

An attractive and varied trail which stretches 90km through the lush pastureland of the Golden Vale. You can explore the Ballyhoura Way routes of varying levels of difficulty from one of seven key trailheads. 

Broadford to Ashford Way

This walk of 20km, linking the two villages of Broadford and Ashford, provides a variety of terrain, views and ambience.

Keale River Walk

If you would like to get a real feel for an Irish woodland and river bank with at least forty shades of green, then the Keale 7km river walk between the two villages of Glenroe and Ballyorgan is the perfect solution.

Glin Castle Demesne Heritage Trails

Glin Castle Demesne Heritage Trails offer a wide variety of spectacular coastal and woodland scenery. As you explore these three trails you will appreciate the stunning views that await you along the way.

Clare Glens Woodland & Loop Walks

The Clare Glens is a wooded area along the banks of the Clare River, which separates counties Limerick and Tipperary. The scenery is breathtaking, with wild dense forest combined with the calm rushing of the crystal clear waters.
