Mayor congratulates record-winning Hurling All-Stars

The Mayor of the City and County of Limerick has congratulated the Limerick hurlers on their record haul of Hurling All-Stars. Mayor Daniel Butler was commenting after the announcement that 12 of this year’s PWC All-Stars hurling team are from Limerick, the reigning All-Ireland Champions.

Mayor Butler said: “This is yet another amazing achievement for the Limerick hurlers and it tops off a brilliant 12 months for the team, during which they won two All-Ireland title back-to-back.”

“Never before have 12 players from one team been selected on the same All-Stars team. Yet another record broken by this wonderful Limerick team.”

“It is wonderful to see that their skill, drive and desire for excellence has been recognised and to be selected by their peers is something extra special.”

“It is such a wonderful honour to be chosen as an All-Star, and to represent Limerick with such pride.”
