Limerick City and County Council (LCCC) is inviting members of the public to participate in a non-statutory public consultation regarding the proposed Canopy on Cruises Street as part of the Market Quarter and Cruises Street Public Realm Upgrade project.

LCCC’s vision for the project is to improve and enhance the publics experience when they visit Cruises Street, helping to revitalise the street and make Cruises Street a key shopping area and public amenity space within the city, for both locals and tourists alike.

A non-statutory public consultation period will begin from Tuesday, 2nd June 2026 and run for a two week period.

A public event is being held in the Citizen Innovation Lab, UL City Campus from 1pm to 7.30pm, offering those who attend the chance to look at, and provide feedback on, preliminary drawings and a proposed potential layout for the canopy.

Submissions may be made:

  • In writing to: FAO Public Realm Department, Limerick City and County Council Offices, Merchants Quay, Limerick, V94 EH90;
  • Via MyPoint from 2nd June up to 11.59pm on Monday 15th June 2026; or
