A Whimsical Night with the Disco Pigs

Saturday 2nd May
  • A Whimsical Night with the Disco Pigs by Lumen Street Theatre

Step inside a 300‑year‑old cornstore for an unforgettable night where folklore, music, and imagination collide.

Enjoy an imaginative evening filled with music, dance, craft and local legend. Disco pigs in vibrant costumes lead dancers of all ages as a DJ keeps the energy high. A quirky puppet butcher oversees the festivities, celebrating the lore of Pigtown with humor and reverence. Between rounds, the pigs perform interpretive dances that weave tales of tradition and community.

“Once upon a moonlit evening at Bealtaine, a fabled pig waded ashore from the shimmery river that curls around Pigtown. Unlike any ordinary pig, she adorned with a silvery tail and sparkling hooves, and wherever she trotted, laughter followed. Locals say she brought luck to the old cornstore, leaving mysterious hoofprints in flour barrels and inspiring impromptu dance among the townsfolk. Her gentle grunts sounded like music, and she was known to vanish at dawn, returning only when the town needed a reminder of joy and mischief. Her legend lives on—in every playful step and every tale spun by the Disco Pigs, she is the river’s gift to Pigtown.”

At Lumen HQ, artisans showcase mask, costume, and puppet making, inviting everyone to explore the creative process. Whether you’re dancing, listening to stories, or learning about theatrical crafts, this night welcomes all into a playful celebration of history and artistry.
