Have you ever wondered how you can have a say in decisions that affect your community?
Participative democracy gives people the opportunity to get involved and help shape local policies. Public Participation Networks (PPNs) are Ireland’s main way for community and voluntary groups to connect with local government. They link local authorities with over 21,000 community, voluntary, social inclusion, and environmental groups across the country. Established in 2014, PPNs give people the chance to influence local policy through council committees such as Strategic Policy Committees (SPCs) and Local Community Development Committees (LCDCs).
Come along to learn how participative democracy works and how you can get involved at a grassroots level to make a difference in your community.
Everyone is welcome, and refreshments will be provided.
