Celebrating Ul Creative Writing Alum Neil Tully

Tuesday 14th April @ 6.45pm
  • Neil Tully

To celebrate publication of The Visit (Eriu Press), the exceptional debut novel from UL Creative Writing MA graduate Neil Tully.

The author will be introduced by two of his former teachers, Joseph O’Connor (UL Chair of Creative Writing, winner of the An Post Book of the Year Award 2025 for The Ghosts of Rome) and Sarah Moore (Course Director of UL Creative Writing MA, winner of the London Magazine Short Story Award).

Neil Tully will read and take questions on his hugely acclaimed novel. In January, Neil Tully featured on the Irish Times prestigious list of ‘People To Watch in the Arts in 2026’.  The Visit which began its life as part of Neil’s coursework for his Creative Writing MA, has been described as ‘brilliant and intriguing’ by Colm Toibin and is already garnering international praise. Set against the background of President Kennedy’s visit to Ireland in 1963, it is a radiantly powerful story of memory and loyalty.  If you would like a signed copy of Neil’s book but cannot attend this event, please talk to any member of staff or order online and put your dedication request in the comment box at the checkout of www.omahonys.ie
