Formed in 1997, Lúnasa quickly became known as an “Irish music dream team,” bringing a groundbreaking sound, intricate arrangements and unparalleled energy to stages across the world. Their music has been praised internationally, with critics calling them “the hottest Irish acoustic band on the planet,” “the new gods of Irish music,” and “a thrilling rhythmic force.”
With over a quarter of a million album sales and more than 2,500 performances in 36 countries, Lúnasa have firmly established themselves at the forefront of contemporary traditional music. Their collaborations with Natalie Merchant, Mary-Chapin Carpenter and Tim O’Brien, along with performances at iconic venues including Carnegie Hall, The Hollywood Bowl, Bercy Arena Paris and Glastonbury Festival, have broadened their reach and cemented their status as giants of the genre.
