The Levy/Robson Quartet returns following their acclaimed tour of Italy and the UK last autumn, presenting music from their brand new album The Unpredictability of the Sea.
The quartet performs original compositions by saxophonist Jed Levy and guitarist Phil Robson, blending contemporary jazz with strong melodic grooves and a deep connection to the tradition. Formed in New York City in 2017, this musical partnership brings together the highly regarded American tenor saxophonist Levy and multi-award-winning UK-born guitarist Robson.
Their collaboration quickly became a regular feature in iconic New York venues such as Smalls, Birdland and the 55 Bar, while also touring internationally across Europe, the UK and Ireland. Featuring Mark Hodgson on bass and Shane O’Donovan on drums, the quartet combines inventive improvisation with rich compositions that bridge tradition and modernity. Recorded in Rome during their recent tour, The Unpredictability of the Sea captures the energy and creativity of this transatlantic collaboration. This tour celebrates the release of the new album and offers audiences a unique opportunity to experience this exciting music performed live.
