Revival Press and The Acoustic Club are delighted to announce a special collaborative evening, Poetry & Songs: A Night of Poems and Popular Songs.
The event is in support of the Night-Time Economy After Hours at the Museum scheme, an initiative of The Department of Culture, Communications and Sport. The event brings together the acclaimed ‘Bard of Birdhill’ poet Michael Durack and a selection of talented Acoustic Club songwriters for a relaxed, uplifting night that blends spoken word with music and well‑loved songs. Audiences can expect Durack’s trademark wit, insight, and storytelling, paired with the rich variety of voices and styles that have made The Acoustic Club a cornerstone of Limerick’s music scene. Songwriters/performers taking part are; Ken Mackessy, Phila Grace, Fergus Moloney, Kennedy O’Brien and Michael Andrews.
This one‑off collaboration celebrates the shared spirit of creativity that runs through both poetry and song; two art forms rooted in rhythm, memory, and the everyday lives of people and place. It promises an evening of connection, craft, and community in one of the city’s most atmospheric venues.
