Limerick City and County Council is proud to unveil an exciting and eclectic programme for this year’s Castleconnell Autumn Concert Series.
Continuing the tradition of bringing world-class classical music to local audiences in a unique and intimate setting.
Performing Artists: Limerick Wind Ensemble
Based in Limerick City, the ensemble brings together professional and semi-professional musicians from the wider Limerick area who share a passion for classical wind chamber music.
The ensemble’s repertoire includes many of the great works for winds, such as Mozart’s Gran Partita, Mozart serenades and opera arrangements, Dvořák’s Wind Serenade, and traditional Bohemian wind music. Through these performances, the group continues the rich Harmoniemusik tradition of elegant and vibrant music-making. In 2001, shortly after its formation, the ensemble undertook an extensive ten-day concert tour of Catalonia, performing to enthusiastic audiences and helping to establish the group’s reputation abroad.
