Since forming in late 2022, Amble – Robbie Cunningham, Oisín McCaffrey, and Ross McNerney – have carved out a reputation for honest songwriting, lush acoustic arrangements and captivating live performances.
Along with their evident chemistry and engaging stage presence, the band soon realised that each member brought a complementary talent to begin writing their own music. Robbie harnessed his own personal experiences to write heartfelt lyrics, meanwhile Oisín added a poetic touch, and Ross took the lead on concocting accompanying folk melodies.
Citing John Prine, Paolo Nutini and Ye Vagabonds as key influences on Amble’s sound, the three men quickly began to amass a sizable fanbase both at their local live shows but also online, where global audiences connected with the band’s TikTok videos. Less than a year after forming Amble, the band were picked up by Warner Records and Robbie, Oisín and Ross each quit their day job in order to focus on songwriting.
