Threads Through Time: Discovering Limerick Lace

Friday 18th September @ 6pm
  • Lace stretched across a frame

Step into the intricate world of Limerick lace guided by Friends of Lace Limerick at this special Culture Night pop-up exhibition.

Explore a beautiful collection of antique and contemporary lace pieces, with a particular focus on Limerick lace, alongside examples of Carrickmacross, Borris, Headford and Clones lace traditions.

Discover how lace continues to inspire creativity through innovative textile repair techniques and gain insight into the skill, artistry and heritage behind these remarkable handcrafted works.

Visitors can also take part in one of two interactive Limerick lace demonstration sessions at 6pm and 7pm, featuring hands-on opportunities to try traditional lace stitches for themselves.

Each session is limited to 10 participants. Admission is free, but advance booking is essential.

Whether you're curious, creative, or simply captivated by fine handwork, join us and thread your way through Limerick's lace legacy one stitch at a time.
