Limerick Mental Health Week returns from Sunday 4th to Saturday 10th October 2026, bringing together organisations, community groups and services from across Limerick for a week dedicated to mental health, wellbeing, connection and community.

Throughout the week, there will be a wide range of events taking place across Limerick, including workshops, talks, family activities, music, mindfulness, physical activity and opportunities to connect with others.

Whether you would like to learn something new, meet people in your community, take some time for yourself or simply enjoy one of our events, we would love to have you join us.

Many events are free to attend. Some events require advance booking, so please check the individual event information below. 

Sunday 4th October

  • Limerick Mental Health Week Launch - Family Fun Day | The Milk Market | 12pm - 3pm
    Join us at the Milk Market as we officially launch Limerick Mental Health Week 2026! Our Family Fun Day will bring the community together to celebrate connection, wellbeing and the importance of looking after our mental health. We will also be joined by guest speaker Jackie McCarthy O’Brien. Come along, bring the family and help us kick off a fantastic week of events across Limerick.

Monday 5th October

  • Menopause Café - Women’s Collective Ireland | Limerick Mental Health Association, Sarsfield Bridge | 10am - 12pm
    Join Women’s Collective Ireland Limerick for a relaxed Menopause Café, offering a welcoming environment to meet others and talk openly about menopause and its effects. Tea and light refreshments will be provided. Booking required.
  • Baby & Toddler Group | Croom Family Resource Centre | 10am - 11.30am
    New members are welcome to come along to Croom FRC’s Baby & Toddler Group. Meet other parents, make new friends over a cuppa and enjoy an opportunity for your little one to play, socialise and build confidence.
  • Singing for Wellbeing - Chimers Choir | St Joseph’s Health Campus, Mulgrave Street | 5.30pm - 6.30pm
    Come along and experience the wellbeing benefits of singing together with Chimers Choir. 
    There is no experience needed, and lyric sheets will be provided. The session will feature a mix of popular songs in a friendly and welcoming environment. Over 18s only.
  • Understanding Athletes’ Mental Health Whilst Balancing Sports & Studies | Markets Field, Garryowen | 5.30pm - 6.30pm
    Treaty United and ETB’s Craig Madigan & Co. will present a workshop exploring athletes’ mental wellbeing.
    The session will look at questions including: What does burnout look like? How can we take care of player wellbeing? How can athletes balance sport and their studies?
    The workshop is designed for athletes aged 16+ and also provides useful information for parents who would like to better understand how they can support young athletes through their sporting and educational journeys.

Tuesday 6th October

  • Walk & Talk: Your Next Step - Employability Limerick | Employability Limerick, 5 Mallow Street | 10.30am - 12pm
    Meet the Employability Limerick team in a relaxed outdoor setting for a walk and informal conversation about taking your next steps towards employment. Explore your strengths, discuss employment or training goals and find out about the support available to you.
    Refreshments and additional time to chat will be available afterwards.
  • Holistic Healing Day - Solace Café | 1pm - 3pm 
    Take some time for yourself at our Holistic Healing Day in Solace Café. The afternoon will introduce visitors to a variety of holistic and wellbeing practices, including energy healing, tarot card reading, Tibetan medicine, sound baths, art therapy, holistic therapy, kinesiology, healing and meditation.
    Come along, explore different approaches to wellbeing and enjoy a welcoming afternoon at Solace Café.
  • Positive Factors to Reduce the Risk of Developing Mental Health Issues - Grow Mental Health | Online | 7pm - 8.15pm
    Join Grow Mental Health for an online workshop exploring positive factors that can support mental wellbeing and help reduce the risk of developing mental health difficulties.

Wednesday 7th October

  • Good2Go | Markets Field, Garryowen Road | 10am - 2pm
    Good2Go hubs provide older adults with fun, social opportunities to remain active, connected and engaged in their communities. Activities can include functional fitness, dance, scooch, target games and activator pole walking, followed by tea and coffee. Activities can be adapted to suit different physical activity levels, with a strong focus on participation and social connection.

  • Baby & Toddler Group | Croom FRC | 10am - 12.30pm
    Parents and little ones are invited to come along to the Baby & Toddler Group in Ballingarry. Meet other parents, enjoy a cuppa, make new connections and give your child an opportunity to play and build confidence.
  • Storytime | Limerick City Library | 10.30am - 12pm
    Join us for a relaxed Storytime session for children and families at Limerick City Library. Come along, enjoy some stories together and spend time connecting as a family.
  • Guided Meditation Using Wisdoms from the Grow Program | Grow Mental Health, 33 Henry Street | 1pm - 2pm
    Join Grow Mental Health for a gentle guided meditation inspired by the wisdom of the Grow Programme. Take an hour out of your day to slow down, reflect and reset in a supportive environment.

  • Walking Football | Markets Field, Garryowen Road | 2.30pm - 3.30pm
    Headway Ireland hosts Walking Football for adults affected by brain injury, including stroke. Walking Football offers a gentler and more accessible version of the game, giving participants an opportunity to stay active while meeting and connecting with others in the community. The activity supports physical wellbeing, social connection and reduced isolation.
  • Men’s Self-Care - Men Only & Migrants with Northstar & Doras | Garryowen Community Development Project, V94 YW26 | 6pm - 8.30pm 
    Join us for a dedicated Men’s Self-Care session, providing an opportunity for men to take some time out and focus on their wellbeing.
  • Gamechanger - Leadership in Action: Promoting a Culture of Respect | Online | 7pm - 8.30pm
    Join Ruhama for a free online webinar exploring their work and the Gamechanger Programme, a collaborative initiative using the positive influence of Gaelic Games to help address gender-based violence. The session will explore how Gamechanger aims to give people the knowledge and tools to challenge harmful attitudes, norms and behaviours, helping to create safer, more respectful and inclusive communities. Together, we can promote a culture of respect and help build communities where everyone can live free from gender-based violence.

  • Walk & Talk with Limerick Suicide Watch | Unit 3 Tate Business Centre | 7pm - 8.30pm
    Join Limerick Suicide Watch for a casual walk and talk around Limerick. Take some time to get outdoors, connect with others and prioritise your mental health while enjoying a casual walk around Limerick. The walk will be followed by tea and treats, with an opportunity to chat and connect.

Thursday 8th October

  • Occupational Balance Workshop | Solace Café, Limerick | 10am - 11am
    Learn more about Occupational Therapy and Occupational Balance in this practical workshop. Participants will be encouraged to look at how they spend their time across work, rest and play, reflect on their everyday routines and consider how they might create greater balance in their daily lives.

  • Men’s Self-Care - Men Only & Migrants with Northstar & Doras | Docas, 14 Parnell Street | 10am - 12.30pm
    A dedicated men’s self-care event focused on creating space for connection, conversation and wellbeing.
  • Parent & Toddler Morning | Adare Library | 10am - 11.30am
    Parents, carers and little ones are invited to join us for a relaxed Parent & Toddler Morning at Adare Library.
    Come along for games, stories and rhymes for little ones, with an opportunity for families to spend time together and connect with others in the community.
  • Women’s Elderly Group | Hospital FRC | 10.30am - 12.30pm
    Join the Women’s Elderly Group at Hospital Family Resource Centre as part of Limerick Mental Health Week.
    Come along for a welcoming morning focused on connection, community and wellbeing.
  • Connect Café – Mental Health Ireland | Limerick City Library | 10.30am - 12pm
    Join Mental Health Ireland for an interactive Connect Café, exploring the importance of self-care and resilience through meaningful conversation, shared experiences and practical ideas that can support everyday wellbeing. The session will be facilitated by Cillian Keane of Mental Health Ireland.

  • Healthy Teen Relationships Talk - ADAPT | Solace Café | 11am - 12pm
    Join ADAPT for a conversation about healthy relationships and gain helpful information about what healthy relationships can look like.
    The event is open to teens and young adults and provides a welcoming opportunity to learn, ask questions and build awareness around healthy relationships.
  • Storytime | Watchhouse Cross Library | 3.30pm - 5pm
    Join us at Watchhouse Cross Library for a Storytime session for children and families. Come along and enjoy stories together in a relaxed and welcoming library environment.
  • Commemoration of Hope | Augustinian Church | 6.30pm - 7.30pm
    Join Northstar Family Support Project for a Commemoration of Hope, to commemorate those we have lost. Come together for an evening of remembrance and hope.
  • Irish Chamber Orchestra Youth Performance | Crescent Shopping Centre | 6.30pm - 7.30pm
    Take a moment and enjoy the uplifting power of live music as talented young musicians from the Irish Chamber Orchestra Youth perform at the Crescent Shopping Centre.
    All donations from the performance will support Limerick Mental Health Association.

Friday 9th October

  • Parent & Toddler Morning | Watchhouse Cross Library | 10.30am - 12pm
    Parents, carers and little ones are invited to a relaxed Parent & Toddler Morning at Watchhouse Cross Library. Enjoy games, stories and rhymes for little ones, while meeting and connecting with other families in the community.
  • Pilates - Vanilla Matcha Pilates | Markets Field, Garryowen | 11am - 12pm
    Vanilla Matcha Pilates presents a one-hour Pilates session focusing on mindfulness and the connection between body and mind. Take some time for yourself, move your body and enjoy a mindful start to the day. Bring your own mat and water bottle. Tea and coffee will also be available.
  • Light Opera Lunchtime | Castletroy Town Centre | 1pm - 2pm
    Enjoy a musical lunchtime with soprano Eve Stafford and mezzo Shirley Keane at Castletroy Town Centre.
    Stop by, take a break and enjoy an hour of live music. A Limerick Mental Health Association fundraising stand will also be present.
  • Sing for Mental Health - Limerick Choral Union | St John’s Cathedra | 7.30pm - 9.30pm
    Join us for a special evening of beautiful choral music with the Limerick Choral Union.
    Participating choirs include: Voices of Limerick, Killaloe Male Choir, Mens Shedders (Ukulele), Croom NS Choir, Satakieli and St John’s Cathedral Choir. Take some time out and enjoy an evening centred around music, connection and community.

Saturday 10th October

  • Information Day - Family Fun Day | Bedford Row | 12pm - 3pm
    Join us on Bedford Row as we bring Limerick Mental Health Week 2026 to a close with an Information Day and Family Fun Day.
    Come along, connect with local organisations and services, find out more about mental health and wellbeing supports available in the community, and enjoy a family-friendly afternoon in the heart of Limerick City.
    It’s a great opportunity to meet some of the organisations involved in Limerick Mental Health Week and finish the week together with a focus on community, connection and wellbeing.
  • Mindfulness Breathing Session | Dooradoyle Library | 1pm - 3pm
    The session will begin with mindful breathing facilitated by Kate Duffy, followed by mindfulness colouring, tea, coffee and refreshments, with plenty of time to chat and connect around mental health and wellbeing.  Spaces are limited to 20 ladies, so booking is essential. Take some time for yourself, slow down and enjoy a welcoming afternoon together.
