April is Poetry Month in Limerick 2026

Wednesday 1st - Thursday 30th April
  • John Liddy, Ed Stony Thursday Book, Dominic Taylor Director LWC; Jim Burke Ed Stony Thursday Book

April is Poetry Month in Limerick (AIPMIL) 2026 brings a full month of poetry, performance and community spirit to Limerick, celebrating the voices and stories rooted in the city’s own “clay and soil.”

Now in its thirteenth year, April is Poetry Month in Limerick continues the Limerick Writers’ Centre’s long-standing commitment to making poetry accessible, local, and alive — from intimate readings and performance to headline events with emerging and established writers.

This year’s programme showcases the richness of Limerick’s creative landscape, inviting people of all ages to discover how poetry can steady us, challenge us, and strengthen the communities we share. With events hosted across the city — including collaborations with Lime Square Poets and many of Limerick’s cultural partners — AIPMIL 2026 offers something for everyone: new work, new voices, and new ways of seeing the world. Join us throughout April as we celebrate poetry’s power to connect, inspire, and endure.
