Atlantic Edge: Tide, Time & Place An Art Exhibition by Una Heaton

Thursday 14th May - Saturday 30th May
  • Una Heaton

Una Heaton is a Limerick-born artist whose work is deeply informed by the Atlantic coastline, where shifting light, weather and terrain continually reshape the landscape.

A well-known figure in the city’s cultural life, she has exhibited both nationally and internationally, while maintaining a strong connection to her studio practice in Limerick.

Drawing on the elemental qualities of sea, rock and sky, her paintings explore the meeting point of land and water through layered textures, gestural marks and a nuanced use of colour. Her work captures both the physical presence of the coast and its more atmospheric, emotional resonance.

Atlantic Edge: Tide, Time & Place brings together a compelling body of Heaton’s work, offering a visual meditation on the rhythms of the natural world and the passage of time. Set within the historic surroundings of Limerick Museum, the exhibition creates a dialogue between contemporary artistic practice and the city’s rich archival collections. Together, it invites visitors to consider how landscape, memory and identity are shaped over time both at the edge of the Atlantic and within the cultural fabric of Limerick.
