Dublin Airport

Dublin Airport is 120miles (200km) north-east of Limerick and it is Ireland's main airport. The newly opened M7 and the M50 motorway connects Limerick all the way thorough to Dublin Airport.

The journey from Dublin Heuston Rail Station to Limerick Colbert Station is an average of 2 hours and 40 minutes and the return ticket costs €40 to €50. For best fares visit the Irish Rail website. Some train routes to Limerick require a change in Limerick Junction.

There are many bus services that connect Dublin Airport to Heuston Rail Station including Airlink Express which are operated by Dublin Bus. The journey takes some 40 minutes and a one way trip costs:

By car, the journey from Dublin Airport  to Limerick takes in average 2 hours on the newly opened M7 motorway.

Limerick’s excellent road and rail network reflects the region’s accessibility. Six national roads converge on Limerick city and its environs. Following the opening of the Limerick Tunnel, the road network around Limerick is now connected in a southern bypass of the city. 

Dublin is just a two hour drive by motorway (M7) and Limerick is less than 1.5 hours from Ireland’s other main urban centres. Cork is just a 90 minute drive from Limerick (M20/N20) while Galway is approximately 80 minutes on the M18.
