Re-Embrace Limerick Photo Competition Terms & Conditions

By entering the competition, entrants agree to the following terms and conditions.

Conditions of Entry - General

  1. The Re-Embrace Limerick Photography Competition 2022 will run from Tuesday 29th March 2022 to Tuesday 19th April 2022.
  2. There are two options for entry. Competition entries must be submitted using either our online Photo Uploader at www.limerick.ie/discover/ReEmbrace/photo-competition or via Instagram using the hashtag #YesReEmbraceLimerick 
  3. Competition entrants using Instagram must follow @limerick.ie on Instagram.
  4. The competition will close at midnight on 19th April 2022. Entries received after this time will not be included.
  5. Failure to complete the steps required for entry via the Photo Uploader or the use of the hashtag #YesReEmbraceLimerick with your Instagram entry, will deem your entry ineligible and your image(s) will not be included.
  6. All images submitted must have been taken in Limerick City or County and must capture your interpretation of ‘Re-Embrace Limerick’.
  7. Images must have been taken between January 2022 and April 2022.
  8. There will be three competition prize winners. Competition prize packages include one of each of the following three prizes:
    • Re-Embrace Making Memories: Overnight stay, including breakfast and bike hire*, for two people at Fitzgerald’s Woodlands House Hotel – Stay and Cycle the Limerick Greenway Package. *subject to availability. 
    • Re-Embrace Limerick City Nights: Overnight stay, including breakfast, for two people at the four star Limerick Strand Hotel, located in the heart of Limerick City Centre with two tour tickets for Treaty City Brewery, an artisanal craft brewery, located in Limerick’s Medieval Quarter.
    • Re-Embrace Fantastic Family Fun: with a family pass to the 13th Century fortress that is King John’s Castle. Full of interactive displays, it’s fun for visitors of all ages! Check out the wide variety of rare and domestic animals with a family pass to Stonehall Visitor Farm, situated in Kilcornan, Co. Limerick.
  9. Prizes are non-transferable. A cash alternative will not be awarded in lieu of stated prizes.
  10. Prize winners will be notified either by email (Photo Uploader entry process) or via their Instagram handle (Instagram entry process), no later than one week after the closing date for the competition. Prize winners must acknowledge receipt of this notification.
  11. Unless otherwise stated, winners must claim their prize directly from the relevant provider(s).
  12. Prizes not claimed within 2 weeks of the competition closing date, will be deemed to have been forfeited and Limerick City and County Council may dispose of such prizes without any liability to the winner.
  13. In the event that the winner declines the prize awarded to him or her, or that Limerick City and County Council is unable to contact the winner after reasonable efforts have been made, Limerick City and County Council may award the prize to another entrant.
  14. All prizes are subject to availability.
  15. The competition is open to amateur and professional photographers.
  16. Entry is restricted to people aged 18 years and over.
  17. All images submitted must be the photographer’s own work. You are responsible for making sure that any image submitted has been taken with the permission of the subject and does not infringe the copyright of any third party or any laws. Images submitted may not include any element that is the copyright of another.
  18. If the image includes anyone under the age of 18, it is your responsibility to obtain necessary written permission from a parent or guardian to take their photograph and submit it for this competition. This must be available on request by Limerick City and County Council.
  19. Any incomplete, offensive, defamatory, indecent or illegible entries will be considered void and will not be included.
  20. Images must not contain watermark, logo or text.
  21. Altering a photograph will lead to exclusion from the competition where the integrity of the photograph is compromised.
  22. A maximum of five entries per photographer is permitted.
  23. By entering the competition and submitting your photograph(s) you irrevocably consent to Limerick City and County Council’s and third party’s use of such photography for the promotion and marketing of Limerick, in any and all media, now or hereafter devised, without additional notification, permission, or compensation.
  24. When a photograph is submitted and entry finalised the entry cannot be changed or edited.
  25. Entries must be in JPEG format, with a minimum size of 1MB.
  26. Limerick City and County Council reserves the right to crop any images submitted, at our discretion, in order to fit the overall design and format.
  27. For future promotional purposes, Limerick City and County Council reserves the right to apply basic enhancements to any images submitted, at our discretion, which may include brightness, contrast, sharpening etc.
  28. Entries will be shortlisted by a panel of judges. The panel will select entries anonymously and will not be supplied with the photographer’s name.
  29. The judging panel’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
  30. Prizes will be assigned to winners in the order as set out in point 7 above.
  31. Winners may be asked to take part in publicity (including but not limited to online, social and print media) for promotional purposes.
  32. Employees and Elected Members of Limerick City and County Council are not eligible to take part in the competition, nor are their immediate family members. For these purposes an “immediate family member” includes a spouse, partner, child, step child, grandchild, brother, step brother, sister, step sister, parent, step parent or legal guardian.
  33. Entry to the competition confirms that you have read, understood and agree to be bound by the conditions of entry.
  34. Limerick City and County Council does not accept any responsibility for any technical issues experienced by entrants, which may result in submissions being lost or not delivered by the specified closing date.
  35. Limerick City and County Council reserves the right to cancel/modify/suspend prize(s) and/or vary conditions of entry at any time without prior notice.
  36. This competition is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with Instagram or CrowdRiff.

Data Protection 

  • By providing their email addresses, via the Photo Uploader entry process, entrants agree to be contacted by Limerick City and County Council in relation to this competition.
  • By using the hashtag #YesReEmbraceLimerick, via the Instagram entry process, entrants agree to be contacted by Limerick City and County Council in relation to this competition.
  • All personal data collected in the running of this competition will be governed by GDPR and other Irish data protection legislation.
  • Personal data provided by competition entrants will be retained by Limerick City and County Council for a maximum period of seven years following competition closing date to deal with any queries that may arise.
