The Rathkeale Community Council is elected by local people to advocate on behalf of the community, make facilities available, and to carry out projects which improve the lives of everyone in the area.
We maintain the Community Centre for bingo, card games, classes, concerts, fundraising events, the Garda Foróige program, and community celebrations. The Old Creamery facility is used by Scouting Ireland, the Wednesday Club senior citizens group, Rathkeale Boxing Club and the Meals on Wheels team. The Youth Space houses the Snooker Club, Youth Café, and Youth Club and is used for youth services, personal development and games.
The Community council manage the Sheltered Housing and Community Employment programs, Tidy Towns participation, the county’s best St. Patrick’s Day Parade and the rathkeale.com website.
