We are committed to working with people with intellectual disabilities and their families to live the lives they choose. By forming a relationship with each individual who uses the services and their family we aim to identify the supports each individual requires to participate as valued citizens in their community.

The following are the services provided:

Community Day Services

The Day Service endeavours to support and provide opportunities for a wide range of skills development programmes and therapeutic services to all individuals with intellectual disability. Underpinning service provision is that each individual is valued and listened to. The Day Services offer support to individuals in a manner that is flexible, responsive and person centred. A wide range of choices and options are offered based on each person’s preferences as outlined in their Person Centred Plan.

The Brothers of Charity Limerick Day Services are informed by the policy document New Directions which was published by the HSE in 2012. This report sets out a new approach to day services that envisages all the supports available in communities will be mobilised so that people with disabilities have the widest choice and options about how to live their lives and how to spend their time.

Community Residential Services

The Brothers of Charity Services Limerick have 26 Community Houses offering accommodation to adults with disabilities in the Limerick city and Newcastle West areas. The focus of our community residential services is to provide housing within an ordinary neighbourhood. These houses are designed to meet the needs and wishes of the people living there in line with the National Quality Standards (HIQA, 2013).

Integrated Services provide a range of services from a centre based facility, to houses where there is 24 hour staff support, sleepover staff and houses and apartments where people live with limited staff support.

Integrated Services are based in the following locations:

  • Bawnmore
  • Foynes,
  • Lios Mor, Feohanagh,
