Brown Thomas Limerick has unveiled its renowned Christmas Market. A dedicated space in the store showcases wonderful festive offerings of Christmas trees, exquisite decorations and brilliant gift ideas in a special curation of themes.

Brown Thomas Managing Director Stephen Sealey comments: “The Christmas Market opens at the same time every year due to customer demand. We find there is a positive response from shoppers, with trees and some decorations selling out as early as October.  In August last year, 3,000 units of Christmas decorations sold within the first three days of opening the Christmas Market. Our customers know to expect the launch of the Christmas Market in August each year.”

Brown Thomas Group Buyer, Edel Woods comments, “The Christmas Market at Brown Thomas is renowned for having the most beautiful and finest Christmas decorations including trees, wreaths, garlands, exquisite centrepieces and luxury crackers.  We take pride in sourcing the finest decorations and festive adornments for the home including musical carousels and Christmas scenes which can be passed down through generations of family. This year we are very excited to announce that we have developed an exclusive Brown Thomas collection of luxurious embellished decorations. This bespoke collection will include beautiful hanging stars, bejewelled baubles, glittering pinecones and sparkling poinsettias.”

The Brown Thomas buying team are on the markets from January sourcing exclusive pieces for the Christmas Shop. This year the buyers have curated the offer into themes including ‘Venetian Chic’, ‘Winter Palace’, ‘Yule Tide’, ‘Nutcracker Suite’ and ‘Novelty and Collectables’.

‘Venetian Chic’ is inspired by the elegance and romance of Venetian masked balls and the Russian ballet. A traditional palette of ox blood reds and shimmering golds will create an ultra-luxurious Christmas scene - decorations are finished with hand-embroidery, and baubles are heavily decorated with beads, glitter and crystals.

The theme ‘Winter Palace’ offers a sparkling mix of decorations in whites and silvers with accents of rose gold, soft pinks and mint. Snowflakes and woodland animals are coupled with whimsical children playing games to create a winter wonderland setting at home.

‘Yule Tide’ centres on the magic of Christmas for all the family with a special collection of nostalgic and collectible pieces. This theme is a journey through the ages with a focus on Victorian scenes and family settings – snow globes with winter scenes and carousels showcase Christmas family fun. Decorations are richly coloured and embellished in traditional tones of red and green with highlights of whites adding a snowy and frosted finish.

‘Nutcracker Suite’ brings Tchaikovsky’s ballet to life with an enchanting mix of nutcrackers, ballet dancers and theatrical scenes.

The luxury food offering at the Christmas Market will showcase beautifully presented Christmas hampers from Fortnum & Mason filled with festive delights including; Christmas pudding, spiced biscuits, fruit preserves and champagne. Delicious Christmas stocking fillers include; Godiva chocolate advent calendars, Whittards Christmas pudding shortbread stars, Churchills’ toffee and fudge carousel tin, novelty festive baking kits and prosecco gummies.

The Christmas Market is now open at Brown Thomas Limerick and online at brownthomas.com.
