Women’s Shed Limerick kicked off with registration evenings that were held in September and over 200 women attended and signed up as members.

It was very clear that there was interest in a Women’s Shed,” The ideas that came from the women included Women’s Health Programmes, Yoga, Art Classes, Self Defence Classes, Citizens Advice Chat, Car Maintenance and Social Media Classes. “It was a wide variety of interests which is just fantastic because it’s about going outside your comfort zone.”

Since then, twice a week the Committee and facilitators worked very hard to offer the Women’s Shed Members a fantastic selection of Free Talks and Demos.

“We are so proud of what we have achieved in such a short time and being a fully functioning community group within the area

We are now hoping to have structured courses in the new year along with a place where our members can pop in for a cuppa and a chat and continue to grow friendships. Our biggest obstacle to date is locating a permanent home for our shed. With members growing every day and how quickly we are proceeding we do hope that the people of Limerick will help and support us to overcome this obstacle.
