Muinteartha Film Story Exchange Project

  • Muinteartha Film Project - Share your story

Muinteartha is an EU funded community-led short film project that uses story exchanges to create fictional films. They are running story exchanges over a number of weeks with communities to develop fictional scripts exploring the identities and stories of community members.

These story exchanges, developed by Narrative 4, are short sessions where participants are asked to tell a partner a story based on a given theme, which the partner then recounts to the group. The aim is to develop creative partnerships and connect with strangers from similar backgrounds which will then be developed into creative film works founded on empathy.

Muinteartha is a group of young filmmakers setting out to create real, authentic films based on real life experiences. To do this, they need your help - by telling us your stories!

Three story exchange sessions will be held in Limerick City, starting April 23rd. In these sessions people will be partnered up with each other, and tell one another a story from their own life, based on a given prompt.

The three communities we're currently looking for participants from are; first or second generation immigrants, members of the LGBTQ+ community, and people with chronic illnesses or disabilities.

Anyone with any interest at all is encouraged to apply, especially those with an interest in stories or films.

To apply please email muinteartha@gmail.com, or complete the application form here.

The closing date for applications is Thursday April 21st
