Master Chefs’ employees Michelle O’Donnell (Chef), and Keith O’Sullivan (Operations Manager), were recognised for their personal contribution to the Hospitality industry on Thursday night as they were named ‘Executive Chef of the Year’ and ‘Young Manager of the Year’ respectively at the prestigious Annual Irish Hospitality Institute Founders Banquet and Hospitality Management Awards.

Reacting to the award wins, Pat O’Sullivan, Managing Director of Master Chefs said, “We are absolutely thrilled with this recognition for two of our senior managers. Winning any category is extremely difficult but to win two is truly extraordinary given the quality of the finalists. We are immensely proud, it shows the talent we have running through all levels of the business.”

This is the latest in a long list of industry award wins for Master Chefs over recent years and their third win overall at the IHI Hospitality Management Awards following Operations Director, Leonora Quirke’s ‘Catering Manager of the Year’ win in 2017.

Previous national award wins for Master Chefs include being named ‘Ireland’s Event Caterer’ for their work at Galway Seafest at the 2018 Gold Medal Awards, and winner of ‘Best Catering Job’ for their work at Thomond Park Stadium at the 2018 National Hospitality Awards. More recently, last month Master Chefs’ sustainable and nutrition-focused café & restaurant in Limerick, Copia Green, was awarded the title of 'All Island Cafe of the Year’ at the 2020 YesChef Awards.
