Limerick’s Inaugural Unwrap Fashion Festival showcased LSAD Fashion Graduate's Pursuit of Excellence

More than 500 people attended the flagship event of the inaugural Unwrap LSAD Fashion Festival in Limerick last night (Thursday 17 May).

The Limerick School of Art & Design, LIT, Fashion Design Graduate Exhibition and launch of the The Fashion Film at Limerick City Gallery of Art, in partnership with EVA International, attracted hundreds of people from the world of fashion.

A total of 27 fashion graduates presented their designs alongside the specially commissioned film by fashion stylist and creative director Kieran Kilgallon and videographer Albert Hooi.

The two day festival across different venues in Limerick city also featured the Business Fashion Forum which included a keynote address by academic, writer and advocate Sinéad Burke, and contributions by Natalie B Coleman and Eddie Shannon.

The Fashion Knitwear and Textiles Graduates opened the event on Wednesday with an exhibition of their end of year work. Other events that looked to the future of fashion, while celebrating Limerick’s fashion past, also took place at the Hunt Museum.

Addressing the crowd last night, Anne Melinn Head of Fashion LSAD paid tribute to Limerick City and County Council and Brown Thomas for supporting the festival and the film production. She stressed the need to continue to strive for excellence as a hallmark of LSAD’s fashion success.
