Catch the third episode of the six-part series Beyond the Menu presented by Mark Moriarty on RTÉ One on Wednesday 10th November @ 8.30pm proudly sponsored by Kerrygold. This week’s show will feature Limerick based chef Mike Tweedie from the Oak Room in Adare Manor.

Affectionately referred to as Lord of the Manor , Mike Tweedie grew up in a rural village in Devon, working in numerous Michelin starred restaurants before arriving in Ireland. He now runs the exclusive Oak Room in the 5-star Adare Manor in Limerick succeeded in winning a Michelin star in 2019. We go behind the scenes as Mark meets local Limerick producers and discovers how the team unwind after their pressurised days.

Mark is here to find out how a young man from the UK ended up in the most luxurious hotel in Ireland. The episode kicks off with a theatrical start as Mark is picked up in an exclusive chauffeur-driven Mercedes. On arrival, Mark is shown to the Oak Room where Mike Tweedie awaits. Mike wants Mark to take in the whole experience of the Manor, so it begins as Mark, suited and booted, gets the royal tour and eats like a Lord.

As avid golfers, both chefs go for a round where they have the opportunity to have a proper chat outside the hectic kitchen and we get to know the real Mike. They meet local Limerick producer Kevin in Urban Farms who uses Korean farming technique, which is great for the environment. And needless to say the quality of his produce is Michelin star standard! But it's not all chat about Michelin, pressure and keeping up high standards, we are shown how the team unwinds and bonds outside the kitchen and become a stronger, happier team because of it.

It’s pop up time! Mark and Mike spontaneously prepare a course for a deserving couple on the grounds of Adare Manor.
