Baking a difference in aid of Jigsaw.
Lidl Ireland is delighted to announce the launch of its new pop-up, The Bakery, in Limerick, in aid of its charity partner Jigsaw, the National Centre for Youth Mental Health. Kicking off at the Potato Market, Merchants Quay, Limerick on Thursday 30th of August, the mobile bakery will be selling Lidls delicious bakery goods, while also hosting a range of evening activities that support mental wellbeing. The Bakery encourages a relaxed environment to speak openly about mental health issues, advice and experiences over a cup of coffee in a warm and welcoming space. All proceeds from the events will be donated directly to Jigsaw. Throughout the four week campaign, 1c of every bakery item purchased in Lidl Irelands 156 stores nationwide will be donated to Jigsaw towards the good work that they do.
Jigsaw provide free, confidential and professional support to young people between the ages of 12 and 25. Jigsaw are based in 13 locations nationwide but their local Limerick office is based on Arthurs Quay. Lidl Ireland recently announced the launch of a three year partnership with Jigsaw, which saw Lidl pledge to donate 1 million to the charity over the three year partnership. The partnership also aims to raise awareness Jigsaws #OneGoodAdult campaign. The One Good Adult campaign encourages young people to confide in one adult in their life, be it a parent, sibling or teacher, to gain support and advice. The campaign also encourages listening, encouragement and awareness to become One Good Adult to a young person in their life
Commenting on the launch of the pop-up, The Bakery ambassador Maria Walsh, said "It's not often that we get to sit down and take a moment in our busy lifestyles. Lidls pop-up The Bakery provides a safe space to relax with a cup of tea, some tasty treats and to speak about youth mental health or even lend an ear to someone who needs it most. Im delighted to be involved in The Bakery in aid of Jigsaw. Youth mental health is something I am hugely passionate about and we all have a role to play in this. Make sure to pop down to the Potato Market on Merchants Quay and take part in the fantastic evening activities which are sure you leave you feeling good inside all in aid of youth mental health".
Evening activities will be open for all to get involved; kicking off with an intimate acoustic session on Thursday 30th of August, to mindfulness and Laughter yoga, The Bakery creates a fun filled atmosphere for all to enjoy, all in aid of mental wellbeing!
