Double sell out success for Limerick "Songbird"

Limerick singer, Eve Stafford embarked on a new venture on Friday 1st & 8th of March presenting her first solo classical crossover concerts entitled ‘Songbird’ at the Kilmurry Arts centre, Castletroy.

Sharing the stage with the local songstress at "Songbird," were violinist Anna Jane Ryan and pianist Fiona Linnane. The Kilmurry Arts Centre’s quaint intimate setting, served as the perfect backdrop for the premier of this special concert series. Due to demand the concert ran for two performances. There has been a lot of interest from venues in County Limerick and this will not be the last you have heard of ‘Songbird.’ The "Songbird" concert not only showcased Eve Stafford's vocal versatility but also featured the artistry of accomplished violinist Anna Jane Ryan and pianist Fiona Linnane.

Together, these three talented women provided two evening of uplifting music and song. Eve carefully curated a program of her favourite music featuring a selection of popular Irish music throughout the ages, beloved operatic and wedding classics, and movie and musical favourites. The local soprano is well known to Limerick audiences having performed regularly in solo recital at St. Mary’s Cathedral, Mary Immaculate College, the Hunt Museum and has appeared in several productions with Opera Workshop and concerts with the Limerick Opera Festival. She is a multi award winning vocalist having won all major awards at Féile Luimnigh and Feis Maitiú, Corcaigh.

Eve has been invited as a guest artist for a special Spring Time Recital Series celebrating Mary Immaculate College 125 on Thursday the 21st March at the MIC Chapel. Eve studied as a soprano with acclaimed vocal coach, Olive Cowpar for a number of years. Whilst she has a background in classical music she enjoys singing a variety of genres. Limerick brides and grooms will be familiar with Eve as a sought after wedding singer having performed at wedding ceremonies and corporate events all across Munster for over a decade. In addition to her musical pursuits, Eve Stafford was recently appointed the 2024 Vice President of Network Limerick.

As a devoted advocate for the cultural vibrancy of the city, she has consistently supported various artistic events across the city and county as well as being a proud ‘Friend of UCH’. The "Songbird" concerts were a testament to her commitment to promoting the arts and providing audiences with a memorable musical experience. Looking ahead, Eve Stafford has ambitious plans for the year, with a classical crossover CD recording project on the horizon. This endeavour is sure to further showcase her versatility as an artist and bring her powerful yet angelic voice to a wider audience.
