The culmination of composer Fiona Linnane's year-long project exploring Art Song will be presented in a final recital at Saint Mary’s Cathedral, Limerick, on Tuesday, 18th November at 1.15 p.m.

This special lunchtime concert brings together both her newly composed works and pieces written nearly two decades ago, offering audiences a rich journey through contemporary art song repertoire. The programme will include selections from Linnane's award winning Songs from Kate O'Brien (with lyrics by Mary Coll) alongside a world premiere of a song setting of the poetry of Barbara Hickey, grandmother of soprano Eve Stafford.

The recital will feature Eve Stafford (soprano) and Dr. Yonit Kosovske (piano), and will also introduce Chloe Collins (soprano) in her first performance at Saint Mary's.

Supported by the Arts Council / An Chomhairle Ealaíon Music Bursary Award and the Limerick Arts Office, the project has provided Linnane the opportunity to develop and present new works while revisiting earlier compositions within a cohesive artistic framework.

“It has been such a rewarding experience developing this body of work with the support of the Arts Council and Limerick Arts Office. The bursary meant I could take the time to develop my body of work and it has given me the opportunity to grow as a composer.  We have lots of plans going into 2026 to build on this project so watch this space!”

The performance will take place in the beautiful and historic setting of Saint Mary’s Cathedral, providing an ideal acoustic and atmosphere for this reflective and engaging lunchtime concert.
