I chose this location because it is a meeting place for many cultures of communities and a place where city cultural shows take place. It is one of the views of the city that visitors admire, where history and modernity are mixed, and the constantly flowing river has a symbol of the passing of time and the smell of the nearby Atlantic Ocean. St. Mary's Cathedral dating from the 12th century. Thomond Bridge built in 1840. St. Munchin's church completed in 1837. The County Courthouse built in 1809 and the Limerick City & Council offices which also houses the Limerick Culture & Arts office located on Merchant's Quay. (Ivan O’Riordan)

Tranquility: The Millennium Bridge at sunset which traverses the Glencorbry River, Glin that flows into the River Shannon. Glin Town Park is at one side of the bridge and crossing the bridge leases you to a walkway around Knockaranna , Glin along the Shannon River. All part of the Glin Heritage Walking Trails. In contrast to the medieval quarter and old town, I have illustrated Limerick's city scape by night, illuminated by the Ferris wheel. I have juxtapose contemporary with the old by capturing silhouettes of the Shannon Rowing Club, the beautifully lit Sarsfield Bridge along with its quaint lamps and in the distant right we have the Cleeves' Factory stack. (Haaris Sheikh)
