Start at Rathkeale Greenway Hub
12:30pm - Pull up, grab a coffee or a sweet treat at GreenwayCafe1709, pick up some pretty cool facts from the Irish Palatine Museum café and explore the brand-new hub space. This is where your adventure begins…
1pm - Hop on your Like Bikes e-bikes (yes, e-bikes = less sweat, more fun). Helmets and locks provided, and you’ll get a quick safety rundown before hitting the trail. Your route takes you through:
- Rathkeale → Ardagh (10km)
Kick off your ride with wide countryside views and those amazing stone railway bridges. - Ardagh → Newcastle West (4km)
Keep an eye out for the Ardagh Chalice replica at the Ardagh Station House for a cool photo op.
Scenic Stops & Chill Moments
There are loads of benches and scenic spots to pause, take in the moment, or grab some stories for the 'gram. Not rushed, not scheduled—just ride and enjoy.
Explore Newcastle West (on foot)
Lock your bikes at Bishop Court and wander into town—cute shops, cafés, and an optional dinner at The Silver Room. Check out the Desmond Castle & Banqueting Hall or relax in Castle Demesne Park if you want to stretch your legs.
Dinner, then dusk cycle back
Once you’re fuelled up, get back on your bike. Golden hour on Limerick Greenway = unmatched. The total trip can take about 4 hours, but honestly, you’re in charge.
